Balloons as Decor

Balloons used as decor! I know it’s definitely not a new concept, but I think it’s pretty awesome nonetheless. I’m talking about single huge round balloons, a bunch of balloons, upside down balloons… it doesn’t matter what kind, just balloons! Here are some pretty fun examples of balloons used as decor…

Of course I think the use of balloons is only fitting for a certain type of wedding- one with a more fun and eclectic style.

So what do you all think? Balloons or no balloons? Either way, I think they’re a pretty FUN way to spark the rest of the week 🙂

Color Palette

I love color. It’s understandable if one can not commit  to one color that is…All of us often had favorite colors, but just when we think we’ve found the one, we find ourselves falling in love with another color. It’s okay to love more than one color. But what if you’re trying to determine THE color palette for your wedding day and every time you think you’ve decided…

Although it can be challenging to decide upon a color palette due to the fact that there are just SO many pretty options out there, it’s important that you try. Remember your color choices will dictate almost every other choice in the planning process so choose carefully.

Guestbook Alternatives

Instead of having an ordinary guestbook, that you hardly will look at again, have you consider to use other alternative as a replacement?

There are few alternatives that you may want to consider:

1) Using a wishing tree: let the guests to write their wishes and hang the wishing tag on the wishing tree (and this can be part of your cocktail rception’s decor as well! Imagine those pretty trees becoming part of guest’s amuzement).

2) Using a scroll signature book: let the guests to write their wishes freely and in the end of the day, you can keep it nicely by just scroll it in (oh yes, you may customize the background using your own photo ^^)

3) Using polaroids: either individually or in a group, however they come, and put it on the pages of the  guestbook/scrapbook. The guests will then sign on the bottom of their picture.

Wedding Vows

Getting married is about a union of two hearts and making an everlasting promise.
Wedding Vows can be traditional, old-fashioned, original, unique, religious, funny, poetic, romantic, or with the flavor of the country of your ethnic background. No matter what kind, though, wedding vows should flow from your heart.

Here’re sample of wedding vows that touched me personally:

  •  (Spouse’s name), you once told me that you are afraid of growing old. You told me then that to grow old means to be alone, and it frightens you. But I want you to grow old, (spouse’s name). I want you to grow old with me. I want to watch the wrinkles form on your face and every strand of your hair turn white, because to me you would be the most beautiful, even when you are all wrinkled and gray. You do not have to fear being alone, my beloved (spouse’s name), because I shall be with you. Grow old with me. I promise to love you faithfully, to care for you and to cherish you, to provide you with support and everything that you need, to respect and honor you. All my days left to me, I vow to spend them all loving you
  • Many people spend their lives searching for their soulmate, their one true love. Some people are lucky to find the person they can truly call the better half of themselves, while others spend the rest of their lives searching and never finding. I am happy to count myself among the lucky ones, because I certainly found you. I love you, (name of spouse). I know that you are the only one for me, my one true love. I am happy and I am grateful that you came into my life, that where others have spent their entire lives looking for the one, I have found you. And now that I have found you, I shall never let you go. I promise you, (name of spouse), that I shall hold you and cherish you and give you my heart, that I shall support you and care for you. Faithfully, I shall always stand steadfast at your side with your hand in mine, regardless of what life would bring to us. I take you now as my wife/husband, and I shall remain so for the rest of my life.

Sometimes couples want to have personalized wedding vows, but worry about stumbling over their words or forgetting important parts. You can also do a traditional response-style wedding vow, but personalize what the officiant says.

Autumn Wedding Theme & Design: Purple & Olive Green

Here comes the 2nd autumn wedding color combination: purple (eggplant) with olive green combination.

I really like the mix between the olive green and the dark purple. I believe it is perfect for the bridal couple who want to create a decor from the classical ideas but at the same time, it’s not too modern or styless. On the reverse, it is very elegant and not so hard to pull through !

Autumn Wedding Theme & Design: Brown & Red

Start to breakdown the autumn wedding colors one by one.

Begin with the combination of brown and red as one of the autumn wedding color theme. Brown and red colors are a perfect color palette for a Fall/Autumn wedding. Deep browns and rich reds make for a vibrant wedding. Decorate reception with red roses or Gerber daisies; brown or copper table settings sprinkled with fall tea light holders for a touch of romance.
